AWS has introduced a simplified sign-up process for new Amazon SageMaker AI customers. According to the company, users can register with an Amazon, Apple, GitHub, or Google account, or with an email address, without completing the advanced AWS account setup. For most customers, a credit card is not required during sign-up.
AWS says the process automatically creates a SageMaker Studio environment in about 20 seconds. New customers receive $100 in AWS Free Tier credits for SageMaker AI services, including model customization, training jobs, Studio notebooks, and endpoint deployments. The company also says users can earn an additional $100 in credits. The credits apply automatically, and the Free Tier period ends after six months or when the credits are used. AWS says resource usage stops automatically at that point unless the customer upgrades to a paid plan by adding payment details.
The new environments include pre-configured permissions for model customization, training, evaluation, and deployment. AWS also says eligible accounts receive default access to G5, G6, and G4dn GPU instances, while SageMaker Studio’s instance menu displays quota availability.
The sign-up option is available for new AWS accounts. Existing AWS customers continue to use the current sign-in process. AWS says users can start through the SageMaker Studio page or through supported model workflows on Hugging Face.
