Google has launched Universal Cart in the United States across Google Search and the Gemini app. The company describes it as a shopping hub for organizing products and tracking purchase-related updates across retailers.
According to Google, shoppers can save products from different stores in one cart while using Google’s services. The company gives examples including products from Steve Madden, Quince and Ulta Beauty. Google says saved items remain available when shoppers return later, reducing the need to manage separate browser tabs or screenshots.
The cart is built on Google’s Shopping Graph, which Google says contains more than 60 billion continually refreshed product listings. The company says Universal Cart can notify shoppers about price drops and items returning to stock.
Google also says the cart can show relevant promotional codes and use information from Google Wallet to help shoppers choose between payment methods based on card benefits. For checkout, shoppers can use Google Pay with participating stores or transfer items to a merchant’s website to complete the purchase.
Google lists Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair and many Shopify merchants among the businesses supporting the checkout experiences. The company says merchants remain the sellers of record and provide purchase confirmations and customer support. Universal Cart was previewed earlier in 2026, according to Google.
